Technology&Education is bombarded with new software and web 2.0 tools that can have a great impact in the classroom.
OK...OK...OK. I know it's not a new resource, but it's new to a lot of districts. Thankfully I am hearing about more and more school's revisiting their Acceptable Use Policies and opening their systems up to video conferencing software. Skype not only makes meetings between school employees simple (especially in large districts), but it is a great tool for building authenticity into your classroom. Imagine a government class that video conferences with an elected official or a biology class that presents their lab results to a university scientist for review. Skype literally opens the door of your classroom to a world of possibilities. Oh yeah, it's also free!
